The suspect involved in the July 22, 2015 Alachua County, Florida police encounter has been identified as Carlton Benjamen Parrish.

On July 23, 2015, The Florida Inquirer obtained reports from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office that Carlton Benjamen Parrish had been charged. Parrish was detained and later charged for failing to appear for court, according to The Florida Inquirer's analysis of the official report.
