The Florida Inquirer first heard about the event on July 28, 2015 after the Alachua County Sheriff's Office previously released the information to the public. Voltaire was detained and later charged for failing to appear for court, according to The Florida Inquirer's analysis of the official report.
When jailed, Voltaire was defined as a nondescript suspect of unknown age. According to information collected by The Florida Inquirer, Patrick Voltaire may have been arrested as many as 2 other times, dating back to March 2014.
